BERCEUSES DU CHAT
TWIN ROOM WITH TERRACE
This lovely room is located on the ground floor of the main building’s annex with its own terrace that overlooks the hotel’s inner courtyard and park. From here guests have direct access to courtyard and park. This is a typical "Swiss" room. With its wooden paneling, the cow paintings and the red and white patterned decoration, it is reminiscent of a cozy mountain chalet.
The name Berceuses du chat (Cat Lullabies) stands for a cycle of four short, touching songs for contralto and three clarinets. Igor Stravinsky has composed this masterpiece in 1915 and 1916. The songs are generally sung in Russian. However, Stravinsky asked his friend Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz to provide a French translation. True to the room’s name, the atmosphere here is one of comfort, well-being and tranquility.
