TWIN ROOM, PRIVATE TERRACE, LAKE VIEW
The south-facing room Ernest is very large and bright. High windows provide a breathtaking view of the hotel park, the Alps and the Lac Léman. There are comfortable sun loungers on the terrace. The room is held in delicate, velvety silver-gray tones throughout. An impressive monochrome painting of processed black tones leads to the bathroom.
Room Ernest is dedicated to Ernest Ansermet ; the famous Swiss composer and conductor, best known as the founder of the Orchester de la Suisse romande which he directed and conducted for almost 50 years. A deep friendship connected Ernest Ansermet and Igor Stravinsky, and their artistic collaboration led to the creation of several ballet, stage- and orchestral works, among them L'Histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) ; a music theater which was premiered in Lausanne in 1918 under the direction of Monsieur Ansermet.
